Here is the link to my very simple site created with Google Sites. I think that I would like to try experimenting with Wix, too. Google sites just seems to be too simple - there does not seem to be alot of ability to work outside of the frames.
I really liked seeing examples of "good" school library media sites. There are a lot of free programs out there with the potential to create a very interesting and interactive site that would appeal to students, teachers and parents.

Megan- I liked your Pixie. It seems like the beginnings of an exciting story! I agree with you that seeing examples of "good" sites is very helpful. Students want to be entertained and I think the website should inspire as well as inform. Students should get excited and want to learn more when they're on the media center's website, and old-fashioned sites just won't cut it.
ReplyDeleteI like your Pixie as well! I think that your book of the week idea is a great one and the pixie illustration is a great addition. Students would probably really enjoying seeing and creating them. I also thought that the website examples were a great way to see what elements can make the websites more appealing to students.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about Google sites. I found it difficult to get it to do what I wanted. I also didn't like the frames set up. I switched over to wix and had a much easier time bringing my ides to life with that platform.
